Flagler Village Our “Live/Work/Play Community”
“….where Housing, Business, Arts & Technology can thrive…”

Flagler Village is only steps away from downtown Fort Lauderdale, Las Olas Boulevard, and the historic Riverfront area. It is here that you will notice a landmark revival of a once bedraggled, unkempt, and forgotten neighborhood. Historic Flagler Heights has undergone a major overhaul to become one of the most innovative and trend setting areas in Broward County. Flagler Village encompasses 151 acres of what is the eastern portion of the City of Fort Lauderdale’s Community Redevelopment Area, was merely a dream to the developers who began to purchase and assemble properties in the downtrodden neighborhood some years ago.

The boundaries of Flagler Village are Broward Boulevard on the south end, north to Sunrise Boulevard on the north end, and from US 1 (Federal Highway) west to the East Coast Railway Corridor.

The western most section (about 4 blocks) of the neighborhood is called “FAT Village” – Flagler Art & Technology Village. The borders are NW 6th Street on the north side, to NW 4th Street on the south side, and from North Andrews Avenue on the east side, to the railroad tracks on the west side. Join us for Art Walk; the last Saturday of each month. Stroll around the village, walk by the Flagler Village Community Garden and see how you can be part of this awesome addition to our neighborhood, make new friends, be inspired, visit a wonderful selection of our local artist studios, playhouses and if you’re lucky, catch an impromptu puppet show.

Flagler Village is becoming more and more pedestrian friendly with shaded sidewalks, furniture along the way, and a light rail system for which the Downtown Development Authority has received funding. The light rail system will be called The Wave, and it will be comprised of a group of trolleys and proposed solar powered stations. The proposed rail loop will include a 2.7 mile stretch connecting Andrews Avenue, 2nd Street, 3 Avenue, and Las Olas Boulevard.  Click the logo below for more up current information as this project is really starting to come together.

The Wave Streetcar

One of the areas most prominent developers, Alan Hooper is a native resident.  Alan is very respectful of our history, incorporating brick facades from the 1920’s and those along the Florida East Coast Railroad tracks, into his new buildings and landscapes.  Incorporating the old with the new – preserving a bit of history and revitalizing the downtown Fort Lauderdale historic areas. Alan Hooper and his architect for many of the new loft projects in the Village, Mike Krupnick “are not looking at the buildings individually, but at the Flagler Village as a whole composition” new streets, sidewalks, lighting, and a whole new ambiance are planned as this “Live/Work/Play Community” begins to "come into it's own".

Flagler Village has a great vibe, a great spirit in this trendy village and the merchants and neighbors who have begun to live and thrive here.  The energy in the redevelopment and planning of this pedestrian friendly, integrated “Live/Work/Play Neighborhood” is absolutely infectious!

Avenue Lofts creator; Alan Hooper is one of the most instrumental developers of the trendy Flagler Village neighborhood.  Avenue Lofts is actually located in the west end of the Village in a section called FAT Village (Flagler Arts & Technology).  The neighborhood offers pedestrian friendly, landscaped walkways, great art walks on the last Saturday of every month.  Even more exciting news; a light rail system is proposed in the Village and so much more!

Avenue Lofts is a unique and popular choice of those seeking the unobstructed space, the bright & natural light, the raw finishes from the concrete floors to the exposed duct work in the ceiling and the exposed concrete block walls.  The residents who have chosen to call Avenue Lofts home are thrilled with their decision to move into such a trendy and exciting complex and they are enjoying the unrestrained lifestyle of the industrial loft.

Foundry Lofts and Mill Lofts are two more of the awesome industrial loft projects from one of Flagler Village's most proactive and creative Developers, Alan Hooper.

Foundry Lofts offers 36 Vintage "Hard" Loft spaces complete with fabulous cracks and imperfections and all that is necessary to achieve the "Vintage 1930's Factory Loft Conversion Look".
